About Marie
Marie is proven force in SF politics. She helped lead the recall of former District Attorney Chesa Boudin, and her organization played a key role in electing Mayor Daniel Lurie.
Marie Hurabiell is an eighth-generation San Franciscan, attorney and common sense Democrat running to represent California’s 11th District in Congress. Her first experience in public service was as an intern for Nancy Pelosi, where she learned that Democratic values are strongest when paired with common sense leadership.
Hurabiell has played a central role in San Francisco’s political shift over the past four years, helping lead the recalls of District Attorney Chesa Boudin, members of the Board of Education, and Supervisor Joel Engardio. She was also an early and outspoken supporter of Daniel Lurie’s mayoral candidacy — the first organization to endorse him as their number #1 candidate— backing law and order leadership before it was politically popular.
Hurabiell earned her Bachelor's degree at Georgetown University and juris doctor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Her experience includes a federal judicial clerkship, work at Skadden, one of the world’s leading law firms, and senior executive roles in media and technology companies.
In 2020, Marie left work in the private sector to found ConnectedSF, a citywide organization focused on pragmatic solutions, accountability, and results.
Marie is running as a common-sense Democrat for California’s 11th district because she believes we are strongest when we focus on results and real solutions.
